Overlook Medical Center’s Cardiac Rehabilitation Program Certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation for Fifth Consecutive Time, Announces New Location

October 19, 2015, Summit, NJ – Overlook Medical Center, part of Atlantic Health System, today announced its Outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation program has again received national certification by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR). AACVPR-certified rehabilitation programs are recognized as leaders in the field of cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation because they offer the most advanced practices available. AACVPR program certification is valid for three years.

“We are proud that Overlook Medical Center’s cardiac rehabilitation program has again been certified by the AACVPR, providing further testament to our dedication to quality standards and commitment to helping patients lead the healthiest lives possible after a cardiac event,” said William Neate, MBA MA, Director of the Cardiovascular Service Line for Atlantic Health System. “Our program has successfully been recertified since 2000, demonstrating fifteen years of commitment to providing high-quality cardiac rehabilitation services.”

According to the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, cardiac rehabilitation is a medically-supervised program that helps improve the health and well-being of people who have heart problems. Rehabilitation programs include exercise training, education on heart healthy living, and counseling to reduce stress and help you return to an active life. Studies from Harvard Medical School  have shown that incorporating cardiac rehabilitation programs into post-cardiac event care planning may lower the odds of needing a long-term hospital stay and could also extend life.

Overlook Medical Center’s cardiac rehabilitation services are now operating from a new location at 571 Central Avenue, Suite 118, in New Providence, New Jersey. Learn more about our cardiac rehabilitation services >
