Atlantic Rehabilitation Flagship Site Accredited for Inpatient and Stroke Care

August 20, 2016

August 2016, Morristown, NJ – Atlantic Rehabilitation’s flagship facility, located at 95 Mount Kemble Avenue in Morristown, has been accredited by CARF International for a period of three years for its inpatient acute rehabilitation program and the stroke specialty program.

This is the eighth consecutive three-year accreditation for the facility by the international accrediting body. This is the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to an organization and shows the facility’s substantial conformance to the CARF standards. An organization receiving a three-year accreditation has undergone a rigorous peer review process and demonstrated a commitment to offering programs and services that are measurable, accountable and of the highest quality.

“We are honored that once again, the high-quality services that our skilled staff offers to our patients have been recognized by CARF,” said Kathleen O’Donnell, nurse manager for Atlantic Rehabilitation. “As the need for rehabilitative services increases this type of recognition by an independent third party is reassuring for our community.”

Among the observations made by CARF in its survey of the Mount Kemble facility are the following:

  • The leadership team of the facility demonstrates compassion and dedication to the values and mission of Atlantic Health System and works collaboratively to promote inpatient rehabilitation as a vital component in the continuum of care for persons served by the organization
  • The teamwork and passion of the staff members are felt as soon as one enters the facility, and are highly regarded in the community

The Monsignor Corr Stroke Education, Treatment and Research Center hosts a robust stroke group providing support, education, socialization and leisure activities to stroke survivors and their caregivers. This group also functions as a focus group to gather information on services and programs provided to patients and their families.
