February 27 2018, Morristown, NJ – Two Atlantic Health System hospitals are the only in New Jersey to be named America’s 50 and 100 Best Hospitals from Healthgrades.

Morristown Medical Center was the only hospital in the state to be recognized as one of ‘America’s 50 Best Hospitals’ for the third consecutive year. Overlook Medical Center was recognized as one of ‘America’s 100 Best Hospitals’ for the second year in a row. Atlantic Health System hospitals were recognized out of 69 eligible hospitals in the New York-New Jersey area* to make these prestigious lists.

“Morristown Medical Center’s recognition as one of America’s 50 Best Hospitals for the third year in a row is continued assurance to our communities of our clinical team’s commitment to safety, coordination of care, and positive outcomes,” said Trish O’Keefe, PhD, RN, president of Morristown Medical Center. “The mark of a true leader, though, is to never stay complacent, and as the only hospital in the state named one of ‘America’s 50 Best Hospitals,’ we will continue to lead by example and deliver the best possible care to our communities in our healing environment.”

“Overlook’s recognition, not once, but two years in a row, as one of ‘America’s 100 Best Hospitals’ is a clear indicator to our patients, their families and our community that Overlook is where to turn to for high quality, compassionate care,” said Alan Lieber, president of Overlook Medical Center. “The advances in technology, recruitment of world-class providers and creation of centers of excellence in the last year alone have helped us stand out among hospitals in New Jersey and the nation.”

From 2014 through 2016, patients treated in hospitals achieving Healthgrades America's 50 and 100 Best Hospitals Award had better clinical outcomes than if they were treated in hospitals that did not receive this award, as measured across 19 rated conditions and procedures where mortality is the outcome.*

“As consumers take an active role in managing their health, they can have confidence that hospitals that have achieved the America’s 50 Best and 100 Best Hospital Award stand above the rest,” said Brad Bowman, Chief Medical Officer, Healthgrades. “We commend these recipients for delivering exceptional quality care to their patients.”
