Executive Vice President, Chief Health System Officer
Scott Leighty has dedicated his career in health care to orchestrating visionary and transformational change in nationally recognized health systems on behalf of patients and their families. As Executive Vice President, Chief Health System Officer for Atlantic Health System, he is responsible for the operations of the system’s hospitals, service lines, and post-acute operations.
Mr. Leighty has extensive experience in health system standardization and integration; market repositioning strategies; and delivering industry-leading operating performance in safety, quality, patient experience, employee and physician engagement, growth and financial performance. A believer in the power of a well-functioning team, Mr. Leighty has a passion for identifying and developing leadership talent across the care continuum. His organizations have consistently been recognized as top performers in the health care industry.
Prior to joining Atlantic Health, Mr. Leighty served as SVP, Regional Hospitals and Clinical Services for Allina Health in Minneapolis, MN and SVP, Corporate Operations for Atrium Health in Charlotte, NC. He also previously served in executive roles for Trinity Health in Iowa and OhioHealth in Columbus, OH.
Mr. Leighty has served as a local board member for American Red Cross Blood Services, Habitat for Humanity, and Community Blood Center of the Carolinas. He has also been a volunteer with Special Olympics for many years.
Mr. Leighty has a bachelor’s degree in molecular biophysics and biochemistry from Yale University and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
