The Offray Arthritis Center at Morristown Medical Center aims to increase awareness about arthritis and osteoporosis and to promote the importance of early diagnosis and treatment. It also provides programs that support a better quality of life for those living with arthritis and osteoporosis.

Services

  • Physician referrals for diagnosis, treatment, physical and occupational therapy, nutrition counseling, and pain management
  • Preoperative education and testing for patients scheduled to have a total hip, knee or shoulder replacement surgery. Total joint replacement classes cover preoperative preparation and immediate post-operative care in the hospital.  In addition, we provide patients with information regarding their rehabilitation phase after surgery, including physical therapy and occupational therapy. Patients who have attended the education classes report feeling better prepared and less anxious about their upcoming surgery and have a more positive attitude about the entire surgical process.
  • Quality of life programs, such as self-management and exercise classes, at the Offray Arthritis Center and community sites
  • Educational lectures for health care professionals and community members, covering a range of topics from osteoarthritis and lupus to nutrition and integrated medicine
  • Leader training workshops certify health care professionals and community members to provide programs designed for people with arthritis
  • Resources and educational materials on arthritis and osteoporosis-related topics for community members
  • Toll-Free Arthritis Help Information Line: 1-877-973-6500.  A nurse is available to answer questions regarding your upcoming total joint replacement surgery. Educational information, program schedules, support and encouragement are also provided.
