Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialists Treat a Broad Range of Heart Rhythm Irregularities
Our Atlantic Health System Heart Care doctors, nurses and dedicated research team have participated in many clinical trials that have helped expand treatment options for patients with heart rhythm disturbances. Our physicians' participation in clinical trials are initiated by the National Institutes of Health and industry-sponsored clinical trials involving pacemakers, implantable defibrillators, catheter electrode systems, ablation techniques and antiarrhythmic medications. We aim to be on the cutting edge of technological developments in the management of heart rhythm abnormalities.
Our patients also include individuals who may be at risk of sudden cardiac arrest, are in need of a pacemaker or automatic defibrillator, or have potential genetic links to heart rhythm problems. Some patients with congestive heart failure benefit from implanted devices that strengthen the heart's pumping ability (cardiac resynchronization devices).
The cardiac rhythm management team performs comprehensive electrophysiology studies and radiofrequency ablations for supraventricular and ventricular tachycardias, as well as for atrial fibrillation. We also perform pacemaker and defibrillator implantations, in addition to tilt table testing.
