Pediatric Audiology

For children with audiological impairments, the Atlantic Hearing Center provides complete hearing aid services and comprehensive diagnostic assessments, including central auditory processing testing. We also evaluate and manage cochlear implants.

Pediatric Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy can be beneficial for children with developmental delays and sensory processing disorders or those who have poor handwriting and difficulty dressing. We specialize in treatments that address fine motor skills, self-care, participation in playtime activities and other aspects of a child’s daily life.

Pediatric Physical Therapy

Frequent falls, muscle sprains or strains and delays in developmental skills are all signs that a child may need physical therapy. Our individually-tailored services help improve balance and coordination, gross motor skills, orthopedic injuries, neuromuscular disorders and musculoskeletal disorders.

Pediatric Speech and Swallowing Therapy

Atlantic Rehabilitation’s speech language pathologists treat children who have difficulty speaking with feeding and swallowing dysfunction. We emphasize language articulation and oral motor development.

Schroth Method for Scoliosis Treatment

The Schroth Method can help children with scoliosis avoid surgery. Our specially-trained physical therapist teaches exercises that develop the inner muscles of the rib cage, thereby changing the shape of the upper trunk and correcting spinal curvature.

Pediatric Rehabilitation Therapy Team

Atlantic Rehabilitation’s pediatric rehabilitation therapists have training and certifications in various fields, including Sensory Integration and Praxis Tests (SIPT), physical agent modalities (PAM), Neonatal Oral-Monitor Assessment Scale® (NOMAS), the sequential oral sensory (SOS) approach to feeding and prompts for restructuring oral muscular phonetic targets (PROMPT). Our team works with Goryeb Children’s Hospital specialists to create individualized treatment plans for everything from acute, minor injuries to diseases requiring on-going care.
