What is a Stroke?

A stroke, sometimes referred to as a “brain attack,” is a condition where blood flow is blocked to a part of the brain. This results in cell death due to lack of oxygen. Many factors that increase risk of stroke – like high blood pressure, tobacco use and diabetes – can be controlled or treated. Work with health care professionals to develop a healthier lifestyle to reduce your risk.
