Tiffany Haynes, MD
PGY-3 Chief Resident

I was born and raised on the beautiful island of St. Lucia,
home of the majestic Pitons. My medical journey began at the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine, after which I returned home and worked as a general practitioner for a few years. My passion for internal medicine drove me to pursue further training in the field, leading me to Overlook Medical Center. From day one, Overlook exceeded all my expectations, and I now have an entire new family in my home away from home.

The Overlook Medical Center Internal Medicine Residency
program has placed me at the frontline of patient care, allowing me to navigate the intricate web of medical complexities with compassion, expertise, and unwavering dedication. The encouragement and support from faculty members and
close-knit relationships with my fellow residents have been crucial in my continued growth. Overlook has also enabled me to develop my leadership qualities, from leading rapid response and code blue teams during emergencies to serving on our Program Evaluation, CPR and Wellness committees.

I am excited to take on my role as the PGY-3 Chief Resident
responsible for Resident Education and Clinical Skills Development. This position allows me to hone my skills in academic medicine and help my fellow residents achieve their future goals. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, cooking, and traveling in my free time.

Meghna Jani, MD
PGY-3 Chief Resident

Originally from New Jersey, I completed my undergraduate training in Nutritional Sciences at Rutgers University. I then earned a
Master’s degree in biomedical sciences from Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine. I worked as an Applied Behavioral Analyst while conducting research in the field of Neuroscience regarding dopaminergic pathways. After receiving my MD from St. George’s University, I was thrilled to match at Overlook Medical Center and return to my home state.

During my residency, I developed a strong interest in diabetes care by working with underserved populations. I am passionate about advancing diabetes management and aim to pursue a fellowship in Endocrinology. Overlook Medical Center has honed my skills and built connections essential for my career.

As a PGY-3 Chief Resident, I value the supportive environment and camaraderie among my colleagues, which has made the challenges of residency more manageable. Outside of medicine, I enjoy cooking and have recently started a food blog documenting my creative recipes. I also love spending time with family and friends and aspire to travel and visit as many beaches as possible.

PGY-3 Chief Resident

I was born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago, where I attended the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine campus for medical school. The inclusive, diverse, and supportive nature of Overlook Medical Center attracted me, and since joining, I have never looked back. Working alongside exceptional residents, faculty, and staff has been a warm-hearted experience, and Overlook now feels like home to me.

During my time here, I have actively contributed to the
residency program by serving on various committees, such as the Residents Council, Wellness Committee, and CPR Committee. These experiences have fueled my passion for growth, acute clinical scenarios, teaching, and research. As a result, I am honored to hold the position of PGY3 Chief in Critical Care and Research. In my leadership role, my primary focus is to fortify resident education and skills in the critical care setting, maximizing teaching opportunities in innovative ways.

Additionally, I am dedicated to fostering continued growth in our
expanding resident scholarly activity. Looking ahead, I plan to follow my heart and pursue a fellowship in Cardiology. Beyond medicine, I believe in maintaining a balanced lifestyle. As such, you’ll find me going to the gym, playing soccer, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

PGY-3 Chief Resident

Born and raised in Jamaica, I completed my medical education at the University of the West Indies in 2016. After that, I transitioned to practicing in Jamaica's hospital and ambulatory settings. During this time, my passion for Internal Medicine grew. I pursued further training in the USA and matched here at Overlook in 2022.

From my interview at Overlook, I felt a solid family-oriented vibe. Our program leadership continues to carefully select residents from diverse backgrounds, fitting each resident together like pieces to the perfect puzzle. My time here thus far has been irreplaceable. It has provided me with an enriching environment for both personal and professional growth, given me opportunities to engage in research and academic development alongside my clinical responsibilities, and equipped me with the clinical acumen to provide medical care in any setting.

I am honored to step into the PGY-3 Chief of Ambulatory
Medicine role. I will have the opportunity to contribute to resident education, mentorship, scheduling coordination, and assisting in implementing evidence-based practices to optimize patient care in the ambulatory setting. Ultimately, I intend to pursue a fellowship in Cardiology. In my downtime, you may find me trying to find different culinary experiences around NJ/NY, hanging out with my co-residents, or building Legos.
