Behavioral Medicine

Research has shown that there is often a strong relationship between thought process and the ability to cope with physical health problems. At Atlantic Behavioral Health, we believe we can help patients more effectively manage their medical conditions and improve overall well-being.

Our behavioral medicine outpatient programs begin with an initial assessment with a clinician to determine patient goals and create a care plan, which may include improving coping skills and stress management.

In consultation with a psychiatrist, our Advance Practice Nurse can evaluate patients and help them manage medications.

Behavioral medicine services are available at Morristown Medical Center, Newton Medical Center and Overlook Medical Center outpatient locations. Psychologists are available at Morristown Medical Center and Newton Medical Center who can conduct evaluations for patients seeking bariatric surgery.
