At Children's Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Center, we conduct a series of research studies with the consent of our patients and their families, to learn more about modern challenges that we face in society. Please contact our office to find out more about how your child can participate.
Generation Hunchback
At Children's Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Center, our Generation Hunchback program investigates children ages 12 to 18 regarding digital screen time activities, postural knowledge and behaviors, mental and physical health, parental involvement and school activities.
Our medical team will measure each child's posture using a lumbar extensor test to gauge thoracic muscle strength before and after correcting their posture with us of physical therapy, home exercises, posture braces, technology modification, or some combination of these. Children will be remeasured and tested three months after their initial visit to see the effectiveness of these interventions.
