Atlantic Health offers two comprehensive and distinctive 12-month post-professional athletic training residency programs for licensed Athletic Trainers looking to enhance their skills.
Athletic Training Orthopedic Residency Program
As the only CAATE-accredited program in New Jersey, this one-year experience offers residents the opportunity to care for a diverse patient and athletic population of varying ages and abilities in both operative and nonoperative settings.
Clinical Experience
- Rotations with top orthopedic and sports medicine physicians
- Collaboration with a variety of allied health care professionals
- Assist with outpatient procedures
- OR observations and scrub-in
- Advanced training in bracing
- Advanced training in durable medical equipment (DME), splinting and casting application
Academic Experience
- Lectures and didactics

Athletic Training Pediatric Residency Program
As the first program in New Jersey and just the second in the country, this one-year program immerses residents in field, school-based, and clinical environments, where they deliver athletic training services to pediatric patients up to age 21.

- Rotations with top orthopedic and sports medicine physicians
