The Morristown Medical Center Department of Emergency Medicine and Atlantic Mobile Health are pleased to offer a one-year emergency medical services (EMS) fellowship training program. The program is ACGME accredited and is designed to prepare fellows who graduate to pass the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) board exam and to become the future leaders in emergency medical services.
Through a fellowship curriculum including didactic time, administrative mentoring, MICU, SCTU and air experience, and a variety of other EMS activities, fellows gain experience in the practice of clinical and operational pre-hospital care in addition to becoming adept at the administrative side of medical direction.
This fellowship offers a variety of pre-hospital experiences. The primary site is Atlantic Mobile Health.
Medical Direction
In addition to the primary medical director, Atlantic Mobile Health relies on three associate medical directors who have emergency medicine and pediatric expertise.
Our fellows join this team as one of those critical assistant medical directors. Atlantic Mobile Health and the Morristown Medical Center Emergency Department, as well as the Morristown Medical Center emergency medicine residency, are closely integrated both academically and clinically.
Medical directors, fellows, attending physicians and residents provide direct medical command and oversight of Atlantic Mobile Health services.
Part of this medical oversight includes a physician response vehicle (Delta1) provided specifically for the fellows and is maintained by Atlantic Mobile Health. This allows fellows to respond to a wide variety of pre-hospital situations. This vehicle is supplied with turnout gear, bleeding control supplies, AED, oxygen and airway equipment.
