Heart & Soul began in 2014 as a way to honor the incredible accomplishments of the first-responders and emergency personnel who provide exemplary life-saving care to members of our community. In addition, to honoring pre-hospital emergency service and hospital providers the event also recognizes the Foundation’s automated external defibrillator program (AED). The AED program was launched in 2001 by the Newton Medical Center Foundation with the goal of providing AED’s at a reduced rate along with training and education.
Since inception, the program has distributed over 950 AED’s, trained more than 6,000 individuals, and has assisted in saving over 63 lives in our community.
