Over 220 guests attended Heart & Soul - A Community Celebration at Perona Farms in Andover in February to celebrate first responders and support the Newton Medical Center Foundation's community AED program!
Stories of AED saves from the past year were shared, and awards were given to personnel from area rescue squads and police departments, as well as Atlantic Health team members from Sparta Urgent Care and Atlantic Health BLS.
Since the program's inception:
- 1,150 AEDs have been distributed at a discount to organizations in the Atlantic Health Newton and Atlantic Health Hackettstown medical center service areas
- 7,100 individuals have been trained in the use of an AED
- And 88 lives have been saved...five in the last year alone!
