Goryeb Children’s Hospital is one of seven state-designated hospitals for the New Jersey state newborn screening program. This program aims for early identification of a variety of serious metabolic conditions.
Pediatric Genetics and Metabolism at Goryeb Children’s Hospital screens for more than 50 congenital disorders in all newborns born at Morristown Medical Center, Overlook Medical Center and Newton Medical Center. Confirmatory testing will be obtained, and newborns with confirmed diagnoses can continue to be managed within the program.
Our program coordinates diagnostic options, interventions and family counseling.
