Atlantic Health System offers information and additional support for maternal-fetal and cancer genetic testing.

Maternal-Fetal Education

For patients who are 35 or older at the time of delivery:

  • Group informational classes on maternal-fetal genetic testing topics given by a board-certified genetic counselor. Please call 973-971-7097 to reserve a spot.
  • Individual time with a board-certified genetic counselor to answer personal questions and evaluate family history/pedigree
  • Blood draw for appropriate screening tests (Some are time-specific depending on gestational age.)

Cancer Support Group

Carol G. Simon Cancer Center at Morristown Medical Center and Overlook Medical Center provides a genetics support group for individuals who have tested positive for BRCA1 and BRCA2 mutations. Learn more about this support group and other cancer support groups offered at our hospitals >
