  • Successful completion of all 3rd year clerkships
  • Candidates must use their own car

Description

The occupational medicine elective gives 4th year medical students an understanding of the general concepts of occupational medicine and how to apply these concepts in varied settings.  

Learning Experience

The student’s time will be divided into the following components:

  • Didactic sessions with a physician who specializes in occupational medicine
  • Clinical experiences within the health system’s occupational medicine service
  • Completion of a research project

Goals & Objectives

  • To obtain an understanding of occupational Medicine general concepts
  • To be able to apply learned concepts in varied settings

Feedback & Evaluation

The attending preceptor will provide consistent written evaluations and will offer feedback throughout the rotation. A final, written evaluation will be completed at the end of the rotation.
