Medical students rotating in our Atlantic Health System hospitals and outpatient practices are exposed to exemplary physicians who serve as mentors in learning the art as well as the science of medicine.
For students who spent 3rd year rotations in inner city hospitals, a rotation at Morristown Medical Center, Overlook Medical Center, or Newton Medical Center will give students an opportunity to see how medicine is practiced in different setting. This broadens their education experience and exposes them to a wider range of conditions and treatments. Proximity to New York City offers the advantages of its cultural life only a short train ride from the peaceful greenery of our suburban setting.
Third year medical student rotations are open only to students from Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in Newark, New Jersey; Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Stratford, New Jersey; and St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies. Elective rotations may be selected for the 3rd or 4th years of medical school. Preference is given to students from the medical schools listed above. Students from other medical schools may also apply for electives at Atlantic Health System, space permitting.
Students will have an opportunity to evaluate the rotation at its conclusion.
