During the outpatient dermatology rotation, third-year Overlook Family Medicine residents work in the office of an Overlook Medical Center attending dermatologist. Residents learn to manage a wide variety of skin conditions, including acne, dermatitis, psoriasis and questionable skin lesions that may be malignancies.
In addition, residents get exposure to the management of skin conditions and the performance of skin procedures during their Family Medicine office hours in all three years of training. In the first year, residents have the opportunity to practice skills such as suturing and skin biopsy in workshop with a Family Medicine faculty attending.
